When did you first get involved with track and field?  How long have you been running:

I’m a thrower and I originally threw shot put in the Amphi Everybody wins track meet in fifth grade. If you don’t count fifth grade I’ve been throwing since I was a sixth grader a Cross, so for six years.

What is a typical training week like for you?

During season my typical training week would be practice Monday- Saturday, with a meet on Wednesday, alternating between shot put and discus then on Sunday I try do yoga to improve my flexibility in the ring.

What are your goals for the upcoming track season?

For the upcoming track season I would like to throw around 140 ft. in discus and around 35 ft. in shot put.

How do you prepare yourself mentally for a race?  Do you have any superstitions?

I have quite a few thinks I have to do to get ready to throw in practice and in meets. For practice and meet I need to have my right wrist taped, chalk on my hand, and I like to chew mint gum. For every meet I have I wear a sports bra my sister gave me with her college school mascot on it and her soccer number. She’s been in college since I’ve been in high school track and she’s never seen me in a meet so that’s a little part of my sister that I carry with me.

What message would you tell younger runners who aspire to be at the top?

What message would you tell younger throwers who aspire to be at the top? For any younger throwers who aspire to be at the top I have to say that if you want to get to the top you have to train and put in the effort. Throwing is hard technically and mentally and you have to be ready to put in the practice to be good.

If you had to attribute your success to one thing, what would it be?

If I had to attribute my success to one thing I would have to say it was the belief and support I’ve had from my family and coaches throughout every season.
