Its Almost Signing Season!

Student-athletes can once again ink their signatures to NCAA member institution National Letters of Intent on April 15.

After a flurry of signings during a one-week window in November, no student-athlete has been able to formally commit to an NCAA member institution for track and field for nearly five months.

The dam breaks loose tomorrow, and you can safely expect a very large number of signings to take place on that day. Several schools already have mass signing ceremonies lined up for April 15. This year, April 15 isn't just about tax filing (though there will be plenty of that going on, too).

As usual, athletes, parents, and coaches are invited to send word of signings along to AZ Milesplit. I will post all of those that I receive. I will also offer each athlete the opportunity to do an article (click here to some articles that have gone up already). I might need help identifying a picture though :-).

It should also be noted that there are more ways to commit to run track or cross country in college than just signing an NCAA DI or DII Letter of Intent.

While we certainly welcome news of those signings, we also welcome word of NAIA signings, bona fide acceptance of walk-on invitations, and commitments to service academies and Ivy League schools that involve being a part of their cross country and/or track and field programs.

If any of those apply to you. Please send those along. Word of any signings that we get helps us to track your collegiate performances through the Alumni Reports.

NCAA signings for the 2015-16 school year will remain open until August 1.
