Boys:
Sprints
Tre Quan Ricks, senior out of Tombstone High School, currently leads the division in the 100m(11.10s), 200m(22.74), and the 400m(51.18).
Distance
Senior Trevor Tam from Horizon Honors High School leads the division in the 800m (1:58.39), 1600m (4:27.43), and 3200m(9:45.86).
Hurdles
Rhett Bingham's late-season PR makes him the state favorite for the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.98.
Throws
Scottsdale Prep senior Weston Wright is the top thrower in the division, throwing a 179-10, giving him a comfortable 5 feet over second place and a 30 foot lead over the third place thrower.
Valley Christian, the Division IV 4x400 favorite, will have some close competition. Scottsdale Prep is only .20 seconds off of Valley Christian's time of 3:35.41. The third through fifth ranked teams are separated by only one second.

Girls:
Distance
Sophomore Meghan Barney (younger sister of Michael Barney), out of Veritas Prep has established her dominance early in the season in the 800m, 1600m, and the 3200m. Barney will attempt to keep her top spot in the division and take the state title in all three events.
Sprints
At the Southeast Arizona Qualifier, Kacy Haynes, junior from Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, established herself as the top runner in the division, running a time of 12.73 in the 100m. Haynes is the current favorite for the state title.
Throws
Sedona Red Rock High School's Hannah Ringel is the division leader in both throwing events. With multiple late-season PR's, Ringel looks to be the favorite for the state title.
Jumps
Sedona Red Rock High School senior Joe Glomski's recent PR's at the Cardinal Invitational and Mingus Invitational have put him in the top spot for the long-jump and triple-jump.
Pole Vault
Alexandria Goodson has been leading all four state divisions in the pole vault. It's safe to say that Goodson, senior out of Scottsdale Prep, is a definite favorite for the state title.
Relay to Watch
The 4x800 relay will be the relay to watch on the night of states. The top three schools (Scottsdale Prep, Gilbert Christian, and Veritas Prep) are separated by a mere 10 seconds. All three teams have a chance to win it.
