Ironwood Ridge finished the two day 5A II State Meet Championships with wins for both the boys and the girls teams.
The Ironwood Ridge girls team earned 108 points; Deer Valley took second with 77 points and Rincon finished third with 74 points. It was a little closer on the boys side as the Ironwood Ridge team edged out second place Boulder Creek by collecting 71 points. Boulder Creek was only 15 points behind with 56 and Rincon was third with 54.
Ironwood junior Steve Magnuson (photo right center) who won the 1600 during the prelims, anchored the winning 4x800 team to an 8:09.78 and won the 3200 meter run in 9:39.37.
Charles James (Jr., Valley Vista pictured below second from right) also won two individual state titles when he ran the 200 meter dash in 21.60 and jumped 21-11.50 in the long jump.
Tamara Pridgett (Jr., Rincon) had an incredible State Meet weekend winning three individual titles in the 100 meter dash (2:12) the 200 meter dash (24.97) and the long jump (17-08.50)

Winning two state titles, Leigha Graziano (Sr., Deer Valley) threw the shot put 38-10.00 and the discus 134-06.
Also taking home two individual titles was Brian Akpan (Sr., Rincon). Akpan won the 110 hurldes in 14.88 and the 300 meter hurdles in 38.66.
