Leo Daschbach Is Arizona's Boy Distance Runner Of The Year

Leo Daschbach (Highland, So.)

Season Bests
Leo Daschbach put himself on the map during the cross-country season when he pulled off the upset for the D1 Boys State Title. Since running 4:16.60 at Chandler Rotary, Daschbach was the top-miler in Arizona. At the State Meet, he ran a school record of 4:10.64 in the 1600m to earn the Division I Boys State Title and is ranked #1 in the nation among sophomores, for 1600m specifically. He also anchored the Highland Hawks to a D1 State Title in the 4x800m and finished 3rd in the D1 Boys 3200m. Each of these boys is a State Champion and at least finished on the podium with a State Title or otherwise, but what sets Daschbach apart is his range across all three distance events.
