Gold races
Deer Valley Senior Emily Stutesman stuck it out with Windsor's Morgan Hyskes from Colorado, and finished only four seconds behind in 17:17.5, ahead of the field by over half-a-second. On the teams' side, Higley's Lindsay Simpson (Sr.), Grace Whitman (Fr.), and Laci Simmons (So.) led the Knights to place 9th in the Gold Varsity Girls A category. Cienega's Girls finished 16th in the team scores while Stuteman pulled Deer Valley Nighthawks to 18th place.
The southern Arizona region represented was well represented in the Gold Varsity Boys A category with super-sophomores Ayden Schilb (Cienega, So.) and Roshan Tinoco-Miranda (Rio Rico, So.) taking first and second in just over 15 minutes. With Schilb's help the Cienega Bobcats placed 7th in the competition.
