State University head women's track coach
James Reid has been named the 2010
NCAA Division II National Women's Head Coach of the Year for Outdoor Track
& Field by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association
(USTFCCCA).
In May,
Reid led the Rambelles to their first-ever NCAA Division II Outdoor Track &
Field national championship at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte,
N.C. This is the second consecutive
national honor for Reid as he also won in 2009 after leading the Rambelles to a
runner-up finish at the national meet.
ASU
assistant coaches Tom Dibbern and Gary Gabriel were also honored by the
USTFCCCA. Dibbern has been named the
National Women's Assistant Coach of the Year and Gabriel was tabbed National
Women's Coach of the Year.
Senior
heptathlete Aisha Adams was named NCAA Division II National Women's Field
Athlete of the Year earlier this week by the USTFCCCA. She won the heptathlon competition at the
national meet and placed in the long jump, high jump, triple jump, 110-meter
hurdles and 400-meter hurdles. She was
also part of the Rambelles' All-American 4x100-meter relay squad.
