Best time in a 5K and a 3 Mile Race:

My best 5k is 18:56 and my best 3mile is 17:58

What are your goals for the upcoming season:

I want to be the best I can possibly be and to make a difference in the running world. I want to help my team make it to Nike Nationals and improve our 8th place finish. I’m ready and excited for the season to start.

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

Summer training is going beyond amazing. The whole team has had such a great summer full of training and we are still getting stronger every day. My favorite workout would have to be the Saturday long runs we do at ASU every weekend. I’m running about 65 miles a week right now.

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I started running 7th grade track, after spending the whole year convincing my mom to let me run. At the time I was doing competitive gymnastics and running, so by summer I had to make a choice. I’m glad I chose running because I honestly love the sport.

Will you be competing out of State this season?  If so, when and where?

Yes, we will be competing out of state. Every year we go to Mt. Sac and race. The hills are crazy and there are so many people there. Also, the team wants to so badly to return to Nike Nationals in Portland, Oregon.

What are your favorite courses and the toughest courses to run in State and out of State.

My favorite course would have to be Twilight. The environment there is fast and furious. Everyone wants to go out there and race their hearts out. The toughest course would have to be Mt. Sac. It’s so hard that the hills there have names, hard but fun and worth it at the end.

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

My favorite memory would have to be Nike Nationals last year. Everyone there knew the time, the sacrifices, and the hard work it took to get there. It was so fun and completely worth it. The team got so close and the dance the last night was so much fun.

When you are not running what do you like to do?

I like to hang out with my animals, especially my horse named Oreo. When life gets ahead of me, I just go outside and I forget about it all for a moment.

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

I do! I have double workouts twice a week and I either swim or do the elliptical. I also, do supplementary strengthening every day to.

Do you think you would like to run competitively after high school?

I really want to run on a scholarship in college and then hopefully get sponsored once I graduate.

What were your favorite Olympic sports and did they inspire you in any way?

The men’s 10k was so fun to watch. It was so exciting to watch Galen Rupp make history like that. Him and Mo Farrah were so inspiring and make me want to work that much harder.
