What are your goals for the upcoming season:

My goals for this season are to simply be the best that I can be; to perform as best I can, to “honor the process” as Coach Messer would say, to be better than last year, and to be the best possible teammate and friend that I can be!

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

My summer training has been going better than I could have ever imagined. Long, hilly, up-tempo runs are my absolute favorite! The summer mileage is quite a bit, but nothing that Xavier Cross Country can’t handle!

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I started running in sixth grade because of my dad. We did a family 5k and I didn’t even make it to first half mile before I had to stop! I said I wanted to keep running, so he took me out running every other night for a while and I just fell in love with the sport!

Will you be competing out of State this season?  If so, when and where?

We will be racing at Mt. SAC in California, October 20th, and possibly in Portland, Oregon for Nike Cross Nationals.

What are your favorite courses and the toughest courses to run in State and out of State.

My two favorite and toughest courses are Mt. SAC (in California) and Doug Conley at the Rolling Hills Golf Course.

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

My favorite race was Mt. SAC and my favorite cross country memories are made when I’m just hanging out with the team!

When you are not running what do you like to do?

I love hanging out with friends and family, hiking, biking, and just having fun!

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

Yes!  I cross train on the bike, usually two to three days a week, and do general strength training (arms and core work) almost every day.

Do you think you would like to run competitively after high school?

Definitely!

What were your favorite Olympic sports and did they inspire you in any way?

I loved watching the women’s distance races! The women in those races are so inspirational! Just to make it to the Olympics is a victory in itself, and those women are absolutely incredible!  Watching the races really made me realize that anything is possible!
