Hey Everyone,
Just making a plug for "Racing the Rez," a documentary that covers the Tuba City and Chinle XC teams over the 2008 and 2009 seasons. It has been a long time in the works, but could finally get some TV coverage on PBS next fall. But the project needs money.
A 30 day fundraiser at the Kickstarter web site ends Jan 13th. They are two-thirds of the way to their goal.
If you're "Born to Run" fans, the author Chris McDougall is featuring it in his January blog as his "Best Story I Never Told"
check it out at www.chrismcdougall.com/blog/2012/01/best-story-i-n....
The filmmaker, Brian Truglio, lives in the Boston area and works for Powderhouse Productions. If you watch TV, he has probably done some editing on a lot of the shows you've seen. XC fans may remember him as the guy running all over with a big camera in 2008-09. For the "Racing the Rez" project he spent 2+ years traveling back and forth from Massachusetts to the most remote parts of the Navajo Reservation (and even a couple trips to San Diego to film Billy Orman at the Foot Locker finals.) So far he has put up all of the money for the project out of his own pocket. I'd love to see it finished, and the kids in the project would love to see it even more. And Brian's twin baby girls would love to see Daddy's documentary someday too. (that last appeal was not only shameless, but true)
You can find a trailer, links, and more about the documentary (and even make a donation) at:

Please feel free to forward this to anyone you think might be interested.
Thanks,
Carl Perry
