Year of Graduation: 2013

 

 

When did you first get involved with track and field?  How long have you been running:

My freshman year was when I got involved with Track & Field.

 I’ve been running for almost four years.

 

What is a typical training week like for you?

I run a lot of mileage as well as some great workouts

 

What are your goals for the upcoming track season?

My goal is to keep improving throughout the season.

 

How do you prepare yourself mentally for a race?  Do you have any superstitions?

I always have faith in my training and usually I always have a random thought out of the many I have that will come across my mind which keeps me all nice and relaxed for my race.


 

What does your season look like and will you be competing in any out of state track meets during the season or post high school season?

The season is looking really great through my eyes and I don’t think I’ll be competing in any out of state meets.

 

What message would you tell younger runners who aspire to be at the top?

My message would be to really enjoy every single race whether you ran well or not because time just ticks by so fast. Have faith in your training and just keep climbing to your goals.

 

If you had to attribute your success to one thing, what would it be?

I would attribute my success to the enjoyment that I get from putting on my shoes and going out to run. You can’t love something without truly enjoying it.

 

Do you have role models or mentors in track and field?

My role model is my coach Reese Byerrum. He is the man with the plan.

 

How many events do you compete in and which event is your favorite?

Usually two-three events and then region I run four events.

I love all my events but I’d have to say my favorite is the two-mile!

Oatmeal with a banana is what I always eat.

My favorite TV show is Community

 

Favorite Meet?

I would have to say the Chandler Rotary is my favorite meet.

 

Perfect temperature to compete in?

I’ll run in any temperature because it’s always perfect to compete.
