When did you first get involved with track and field?  How long have you been running:

I first got involved with track and field when I joined the club team, the Phoenix Bobcats. I have been running for probably almost 10 years.

What is a typical training week like for you?

Typically we have workouts on Mondays and Wednesdays, easy runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and do long runs on Saturdays.

What does your season look like and will you be competing in any out of state track meets during the season or post high school season?

The Xavier team plans to do two out of state track meets this season, and we are all very excited for them. We are going to the Arcadia Invitational as well as the Mt. SAC Relays.

What message would you tell younger runners who aspire to be at the top?

Don’t give up on yourself, no matter how difficult it gets. And don’t forget that your team is there for you and they have never, and will never, given up on you.

If you had to attribute your success to one thing, what would it be?

I would credit my success to the support of my teammates who have been with me through all of the grueling workouts, terrifying races, and great runs. Especially important to me is my sister Catherine who continues to be a role model of integrity, generosity, and success as a runner.

Do you have role models or mentors in track and field?

My sister Catherine has been a mentor to me ever since we ran together for Xavier my freshman and sophomore years. She continues to be a role model of integrity, generosity, and success in running and life.

How many events do you compete in and which event is your favorite?

I compete in three events: the 800, 1600, and 3200. The 3200 is my favorite because I enjoy long races the most.
