When did you first get involved with track and field?  How long have you been running:

I first got involved with track in the 7th grade because there were some super cute girls that were going to join. So I figured maybe i could win them over if I ran fast enough.

What is a typical training week like for you?

We just started to add speed into our workouts because the end of the season is nearing. So typically if there were no meets it would be monday, wednesday, and friday being speed days. Tuesday, thursday, and saturday are our long runs.

What are your goals for the upcoming track season?

I like winning.

How do you prepare yourself mentally for a race?  Do you have any superstitions?

I just try to relax and not get too nervous before a race. I have these socks that I have raced in since 8th grade and I always wear them for big races.

What does your season look like and will you be competing in any out of state track meets during the season or post high school season?

I will not be competing out of state but plan on running the Meet of Champions and trying to break some school records.

What message would you tell younger runners who aspire to be at the top?

I would tell them to stay dedicated and like my good friend Mahatma Ghandi says,"Live as if you were to die tomorrow..." So don't wait for things or goals to come to you. Go get them.

If you had to attribute your success to one thing, what would it be?

I owe most of my success to coach Monty. He's a great guy.

Do you have role models or mentors in track and field?

David Rudisha is such a champ. Also my former teammate David Graham is a role model to me. He was and still is the hardest worker i know. When I wake up in the morning i say to myself, "What would David do?"

How many events do you compete in and which event is your favorite?

I compete in the 4x800, 800, 1600, 3200, and the 4x400. This year I really like racing the 800 and hope to do well in that event. Also the 4x400 is really exciting and I love anchoring for my team.

What are 3 things we don't know about you?

 1. I like a mean game of table tennis.

 2. Cookie dough is my weakness

 3. I'm a mormon
