What are your goals for the upcoming season:

I want to focus on being a good leader for my team.
We really want to win state.

 

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

Summer training went well, 60 mile weeks, favorite workout 400's towards the end of the season
This summer I was 6th at USATF Junior Olympic Nationals for the 2000m Steeplechase
I did this off of summer mileage, and no steeple training.

 

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I love running, I ran my first 5k at age 6. My first cross country nationals at age 8.  
 

Which meets will you be running this year?

Big meets, Chandler, Mount Carmel, twilight and of course State

 

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

Footlocker West is both my favorite race and the toughest course
the hills are brutal.

 

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

My favorite memory fo far would be leading Twilight Sweepstakes for the first mile and a half in 2012. I plan to stay in the lead longer this year.
 

 

What do you look forward to the most this season?

I look forward to competing this season, Twilight, State, a new 5k pr,
college visits, and post season Nike and Footlocker.

 

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

My biggest acomplishment was at  State track 3200 my sophomore year. I had a stress fracture midseason, I lost alot of race fitness even though I hammered on the bike, I was 4th place it was all guts, I tied my personal record.
 

 

When you are not running what do you like to do?

When I am not running I still hang with my teammates, 24/7.
I love these guys!!

 

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

I do not cross train unless injured, I love to run and focus on that.

 

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

I have had the gift of 2 great high school coaches, Coach Glider and Coach Forrest, they have different approaches so I have the best attributes of each of them. Plus having Latanya Sheffield as a club coach she is a true motivater. They have all helped me be a better person and athlete.
 

 

Are you considering running after college?

I plan to run after college because I love running. You never know I might make the big stage, I dream big.

Evan Jager,  Michael Jordan and local hero Bernard Lagat, his is incredibly personable.
