My goal for the season is to reach my full potential. I want to be the best leader I can be and set a good example for my teammates. At state I want to score as many points as possible for DV.

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

Summer training has been great! I have been working on building aerobic strength along with becoming a stronger middle distance AND distance runner. My favorite workout is anything on the track and I’m approaching 55 miles a week.

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I started with the Arizona Cheetahs track club in 8th grade. I made a lot of great friends and got to experience Junior Olympic Nationals.

Which meets will you be running this year?

I’m very excited about our meet schedule! This year I will be running at Sole Sports and Woodbridge for the first time.

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

Mt SAC is the toughest course I’ve competed on and it’s also my favorite! I love how challenging the course is and the atmosphere is amazing.

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

Camp this year is definitely my favorite cross country memory. Besides getting great runs in, we really became closer as a team and a family! They are definitely my motivation for the upcoming season.

What do you look forward to the most this season?

COMPETING. I’m very anxious and excited to begin racing. I can’t wait to break the tape more than ever this year!

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

Out of all my running accomplishments so far, the 4X8 at state this year stands out the most. Winning a state title and being at the top of the podium with my teammates was an amazing experience. Earning 38 points at state for my team was also huge for me. I was so proud to have contributed to the runner-up team at state!

When you are not running what do you like to do?

I love being with friends, hiking, and going to the lake.

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

I lift 2 to 3 times a week and swim/bike 3 times a week.

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

I love having my mom at practice as my assistant coach. I'm very thankful to have Coach C in the weight room and still very much involved in my training. I recently got a new coach at DV this year. Coach Messer has made a huge impact in my performance these last 2 seasons. I’ve learned to train smarter and race harder. He has given me the confidence to believe in myself, my team, and my training. No limits EVER. Thanks coach!
