To stay healthy and have a big season.

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

I have been very consistent in my training this summer putting in a lot of miles. My favorite workouts are definitely speed days, I love going out on the track and getting a lot of quality 400’s in. My summer mileage has been pretty high this year, weeks over the summer varied from 70 to 120.

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I have been running for a while now. My dad is my high school coach, and he has been the coach at Arcadia for a long time, so I have been around the sport since a pretty young age.

Which meets will you be running this year?

Our team will be at Sole Sports, Ray Wherley, Four Corners, and Twilight.

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

I really like running at the Twilight Invitational, running at night always gets me excited, and I wish more meets were held then. The hardest course to me is the Foot Locker West course, (also the Mt. SAC course). That race just beats you up.

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

I don’t necessarily have a single favorite memory of cross-country, but my favorite memories collectively are all the times spent with my teammates working out and hanging out through high school.

What do you look forward to the most this season?

I am looking forward to seeing how well our team can do this season, we have been putting in a lot of miles and grown a lot as a team.

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

The accomplishment that stands out the most would be coming back after three weeks off running due to a bad Achilles injury at the end of last years track season. I did a lot of therapy and was thankfully back to running a few days before the state meet.

When you are not running what do you like to do?

When I’m not running or doing schoolwork I’m usually hiking, swimming, playing ping pong, and spending time with my teammates and friends.

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

I do cross training over the summer, including lifting weights and swimming, but during the season I just focus on the running aside from core and other strength training.

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

As I said earlier my dad is my coach, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. He has influenced me in so many ways and makes me a better athlete and person.

Are you considering running after college?

I want to run in college, however I don’t know where I want to go.
