What are your goals for the upcoming season:

This year I’d like to run consistent times and place in the top ten at state again.

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

My favorite workouts are speed workouts. I love being on the track. This summer I took it pretty easy… I ran about 30 miles per week.

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

Growing up I did 5k fun runs and in middle school I joined the track team, but I didn’t start taking  running competitively until freshman year.

Which meets will you be running this year?

My team will be going to lots of meets but the biggest ones are the Peaks invitational in Flagstaff, Mt. Carmel Movin’ Shoes in San Diego, and of course the Desert Twilight Invitational.

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

In my opinion one of the toughest courses to run is the Skunk Creek course. There are a few steep hills and lots of points where you repeat parts of the course, so you really have to focus if you want to run well there. I can’t choose a favorite course, but I love racing at night, so Twilight is one of my favorite meets.

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

My favorite cross country memories are all the great conversations we have on long slow days. Cross country teams are such a cool mix of such different types of people and it’s so great to be a part of the family.

What do you look forward to the most this season?

I’m really looking forward to state this year. My coach is getting married a few hours after the meet, so I think my team will have a boosted sense of motivation.

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

I’m really proud of breaking the school mile and two mile record this past track season.

When you are not running what do you like to do?

I really love (or as my friends would say, I am obsessed with) horses, so when I’m not running I like spending my spare time with riding and hanging out with them.

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

I occasionally swim, but lets just say it’s not my forte.

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

My coaches have become my biggest role models and my favorite people to talk to. smiley
