What are your goals for the upcoming season:

My goal this season is to be a leader and a good example for my teammates. I want our team to be as successful as possible.

 

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

My summer training has been going great. It was a lot of fun training with my teammates, as well as some of the CDO runners. My favorite workout would probably be mile repeats.

 

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I started running when I was a freshman. Melanie Zibrat, currently running at NAU, convinced me to join cross country.

 

Which meets will you be running this year?

We will be running at the Chandler Invitational, Mt. Carmel in California, Twilight, Rattler, and Doug Conley!
 

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

My favorite course would have to be the course at Marana High School, where the Rattler and Sectionals are both held. The toughest course would probably be State or Mt. Carmel in California.

 

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

My favorite memory so far would probably be last years Rattler Invitational. All of our runners placed, and our girls and boys team won.

 

What do you look forward to the most this season?

I am most looking forward to sectionals and state. This year will be our school’s first year in Division 1 and I am excited for the tougher competition.

 

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

My biggest accomplishment so far would be sectionals last year. I placed 2nd and our team also placed second.

 

When you are not running what do you like to do?

When I’m not running , I like to hang out with my friends and teammates.

 

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

I lift 3-4 times per week and I do abs almost everyday.

 

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

My coaches have definitely influenced me. Coach Clouse has taught me to enjoy cross country and run for my teammates rather than myself. Coach Forrest has taught me how to pace myself.

Shout-out to all of my teammates, my parents, and the boy’s team for letting me run with them sometimes.
