What are your goals for the upcoming season:

My goals this season are to reach an 18:25 5k and place top 5 in state

 

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

My summer training went very well and I was happy to have reached 207 miles. My favorite workout this summer was going on a long run then hitting the weight room after.

 

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I have been running since my freshman year. I had no experience with running but decided that I would join so that I could get in shape.

 

Which meets will you be running this year?

I will be running at the Chandler Invitational, the Ojo Rojo Invitational, Doug Conley, Queen Creek Twilight, the Rattler, and Mount Sac.

 

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

My favorite course to run is the Queen Creek Twilight course and the course for Sectionals. The most challenging, I would say, is Doug Conley.

 

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

My favorite and most memorable race was in California, Mount Sac. We were so intimidated because of the hills and competition, but we placed third and it was the best feeling ever. We had tons of fun before and after the race as well.

 

What do you look forward to the most this season?

I look forward to competing and pushing myself to get to the next level.

 

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

Out of all my accomplishments, going and placing in state is the most outstanding.

 

When you are not running what do you like to do?

When I’m not running I spend time with my friends and family or going to school.

 

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

Sometimes when I’m not running I’ll go workout and lift but not always.

 

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

My coach has taught me so much these past few years. I’ve become a stronger, disciplined, and bold person. I am very grateful for her coaching and all her time and effort she’s put into this team.

Favorite Pre-race Meal?

Before a meet we all gather after practice and eat spaghetti! It’s our ritual

 

Kind of shoes you train in?

I train in Nike 5.0 shoes and I find them very comfortable as well as attractive.

 

Favorite athlete (running or otherwise)?

My Favorite athlete is Mary Cain, she is very inspiring.

 

Favorite song?

I listen to various types of music but I don’t have a favorite song.

 

What time of day do you run?

I go for runs in the mornings and late afternoons.

 

Favorite quote?

My favorite quote is, “Ability is what you are capable of doing.
Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.”
