What are your goals for the upcoming season:

To run my heart out, try my best, and have fun.  Most of all I want to be on a state championship team.

 

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

My summer training is going well.  I trained with Tucson Elite for Junior Olympics.  I also ran with my high school team and put in some good mileage.  My favorite workout is running hills.

 

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I have been running since the sixth grade.  I got started when one day my dad asked if I wanted to go running with him.

 

Which meets will you be running this year?

Chandler Invitational, Queen Creek Desert Twilight, Rattler Invitational, Mt. Carmel, and of course State
 

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

My favorite "in state" course is Desert Twilight.  My favorite "out of state" course is Mt. Carmel.  The toughest "in state" course for me is the course used for  the state championships.

 

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

In my high school career, my favorite race was Desert Twilight my freshman year.  I started the race in last place and finished with a new P.R.  My favorite memories are the ones that are spent with my awesome team.

 

What do you look forward to the most this season?

I look forward to racing with my amazing team and to apply the experience from my past high school years to races this season.

 

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

My favorite running accomplishment so far is finishing every race and looking back and realizing how far I have come.

 

When you are not running what do you like to do?

When I am not running, I love to spend time with my teammates and to just have fun.

 

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

I lift weights and swim.

 

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

During my running career I have had the honor and pleasure of having three great coaches.  My middle school coach, Mr. Floyd, who taught me that a little hard work always pays off in the end and who taught me to believe that I too have talent.  My high school coach, Coach Forrest, who has taught me to trust my training and to trust who I am as a person and runner.  Most of all my dad who got me interested in running and who always helped me to believe that I can push myself beyond what I think I can do.
