What are your goals for the upcoming season:

My overall goal for this season is to accomplish all that I can while helping my team. I know our team is capable of so much this year and I am really excited to see what we will achieve.

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

I wouldn’t consider summer training the highlight of my season. My summer training consisted of biking and swimming due to a stress reaction in my tibia. I learned a lot from the experience and I’m hoping it will have a positive impact on my season.

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I started running in fifth grade on the Arizona Cheetahs Track Club.  I actually wanted nothing to do with running but I finished a season and never looked back.

Which meets will you be running this year?

Some big races on our schedule this year are Sole Sports, Woodbridge, Twilight, and of course State. I am really excited about taking on these courses with the girls this season!

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

As a freshman I can’t really say but I am really excited for Woodbridge and Twilight!

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

I only ran one race as a high school athlete, but I would consider winning Sole Sports a pretty amazing start to the season.

What do you look forward to the most this season?

I am really looking forward to dominating this season with my team and competing to my full potential as an individual as well.

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

I haven’t yet gotten the high school running experience yet, but I would consider myself the luckiest person in the world to be on a 4x8 with my favorite girls and getting to race in some pretty cool meets, this season I am looking forward to making this list a lot longer!

When you are not running what do you like to do?

I pretty much live to go back east in the summer and hang out at the lake with my family.

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

I cross train about 2-3 times a week.

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

I am so blessed to have gone through so many programs with so many coaches. Coach Ray had me doing 300 repeats since I was 10 and I love him for that. I ran with Coach Hanson for 3 years in middle school, and I’m glad Dani and I are at DV. In the past few months, Coach Messer has made a great difference in my running career. I would say I’m lucky to have my mom as a coach as well.

Shout-Outs?

You can count on Super Junior being a thing after this year, keep an eye out for that Dani Jones. And of course to Natalie Krafft… just because.

Favorite quote?

“ Some people create with words or with music or with a brush and paints. I like to make something beautiful when I run. I like to make people stop and say, ‘ I’ve never seen anyone run like that before.’ It’s more than just a race, it’s a style. It’s doing something better than anyone else. It’s being creative.”
