Highlights

  • Boys ROC- Ben Huffman (Providence Day) made a huge move at the end of the race to take the win with a quick 14:59.5 clocking! Brentwood (TN) went 2-3-5 up front with Taylor Caldwell 2nd in 15:00.1, Alec Thomas 3rd in 15:00.2 and Aaron Thomas 5th in 15:07.4.  Louis Colson (Edison VA) took 4th overall in 15:00.9.  Brentwood (TN) dominated the boys race with 99 points with St. Xavier (KY) 2nd with 170 points.  Tatnall (DE) ran great for 3rd with 185 points.  Other great teams in the race were Cardinal O'Hara (PA), 4th with 205 points, Saratoga Springs (NY), 5th with 233 points, Bishop Hendricken (RI), 6th with 235 points, and Broughton (NC), 7th with 265 points.  
  • Girls ROC- Hannah Long (Eureka MO) won the girls race with dominating performance in 17:37.  Madyson Peeples (Bowling Green KY) was 2nd in 17:57.  Assumption (KY) won the team race with 95 points in a close battle with Blacksburg (VA) with 96 points.  Green Hope (NC) finished strong for 3rd with 139 points, Saratoga Springs (NY) was 4th with 144 points and Barrington (RI) wound up 5th with 146 points.  

 

Northern Conference Championship, CO

Highlights

  • Saucony Elite50 #2 Elise Cranny (Niwot CO) rolled with a 16:45 clocking to win by over 2 minutes! Mountian View got the better of Niwot in the team race howeverl winning 41 to 53.

 

Bill Dellinger Invitational, OR

  • Saucony Elite50 #3 Alexa Efraimson (Camas WA) was absolutely stunning in the women's 5k race, winning in 16:35 in a kick over Emma Bates (Boise State), same time! Amy-Eloise Neale (University of Washington) was 3rd in 16:48!  Another prep star, Stephanie Jenks (Linn-Mar IA) was 7th in 16:57! 

 

Capital City XC Challenge, MO

Highlights

  • Saucony Elite50 #4 Taylor Werner (Ste. Genevieve MO) won the girls varsity race and crushed the course record with a 17:25.01 clocking, over 90 seconds up on 2nd place! Ste. Genevieve won the team crown with 37 points.  

 

Shore Coaches XC Invitational, NJ

Highlights

  • Girls Championship- Frosh Briana Gess (Haddonfield NJ) won the individual title in 18:36!  Red Bank Catholic (NJ) won the team crown with 100 points.
  • Girls A Varsity- Josette Norris (Tenafly) won with a clocking of 18:47 while Hillsborough won the team race over Toms River North 72 to 77.
  • Boys Championship- Mike Brannigan (North Port NY) won the boys race with a quick 15:45 clocking.  Josiah Hanko (Trinity Christian) was 2nd in 15:59.  North Port (NY) won the team crown with just 48 points and a 16:19 team average.

  • Boys Open Race- Saucony Elite 50 #7 Aaron Templeton (Hardin Valley TN) won with a quick time of 14:54 but he had company in Patrick Sheehan (Lake Norman) who was 2nd in 14:55!  Pinecrest defeated Oakton 86 to 94. 
  • Boys Championship Race- Ian Milder won the race overall in 15:23 with Tanis Baldwin (East Henderson) 2nd in 15:25 and Ryan Brady (East Chapel Hill) close behind in 3rd with a time of 15:27. Apex defeated Mt. Tabor 135 to 175.
  • Girls Championship Race- Allie Klimkiewicz (Oakton) won the race individually in 17:34 with Kayla Montgomery (Mt. Tabor) 2nd in 17:42!  Myers Park defeated Oakton 87 to 121.

  • Saucony Elite50 #23 Grant Fisher (Grand Blanc) won the boys D1 race with a quick 15:10.8 clocking.
  • In the girls D1 race Saucony Elite50 #14 Annie Heffernan (St. Urula Academy OH) was upset by Lauren Brasure (Rockford MI) with the times of 17:36 to 17:49.2.  Rockford also won a spirited team race 62 to 84 over Saucony Elite50 #12 Saline!

 

Century League Preview Meet, CA

Highlights

  • A heck of a boys race occurred here this weekend as a big course record went down! Sydney Gidabuday (El Medena) won with a blazing 14:20 clocking as Austin Tamagno (Brea Olinda) was 2nd in 14:21.  Garrett Corcoran (Villa Park) was 3rd in 14:29, also under the old record of 14:30.  Brea Olinda won the boys team title with a score of 35 points.  

 

Tates Creek Invitational, KY

Highlights

  • Gabriella Karas (Martha Layne) dominated, winning the girls varsity race with a time of 18:14.80, over a minute better than second place!  
  • Ben Young (Tates Creek) defended his home turf, winning in 16:09.54.

 

Maine XC Festival of Champions, ME

Coverage

Highlights

  • Josef Holt-Andrews (Telstar) won the boys seeded race with a course record clocking of 15:06.92.  Aaron Willington and Josh Horne, Mt. Blue teammates, were 2nd and 3rd in 15:42.18 and 15:54.21.
  • Kialeigh Marston (Bonny Eagle) won the girls seeded race with a time of 18:42.94.  Shannon Conley (South Portland) was 2nd in 18:59.21 with Anne McKee (Kents Hill) 3rd in 18:59.40.

 

Alaska State Cross Country Championships, AK

Coverage

Highlights

  • Girls 4A- Allie Ostrander (Kenai Central) won her 2nd straight state title, in dominating fashion with a time of 17:50, 68 seconds ahead of 2nd place Alex Mathis (Wasilla) in 18:58.
  • Boys 4A- Levi Thomet (Kodiak) won the individual title with a time of 15:11, dominating the race as Ty Jordan (Chugiak) was 2nd in 16:07.  
  • Boys 123A- Daniel Serventi (Grace) won the individual race with a time of 16:21.  Austin Monzon (ACS) finished 2nd in 16:37 and Kaleb Korta (Galena) was 3rd in 16:38.

 

Sunfair Invitational, WA

Coverage

Highlights

  • In the 7th flight Drew Schreiber (Eisenhower) won a close battle in 14:55.87 over Nathan Wadhwani (Terry Fox) in 14:56.35.  Garrett Kraal (Kamiakin) was 3rd in 15:17.17.
  • In the 7th girls flight Alexis Fuller (Union) won with a quick 17:58.70 clocking.  Emily Hamlin (Boise) was 2nd in 18:00.62 and Emily Callahan (Coeur D'Alene) was 3rd in 18:05.03.

Highlights

  • Austen Dalquist (Keller) won a tough boys Elite 5k race in 15:50.  Jacob Pickle (Southlake Carroll) was 2nd in 15:58.90 and Bradley Dohner (Klein Oak) was 3rd in 16:04.50.  College Park boys won over The Woodlands 105 to 123 with Keller 3rd with 130 points.
  • In the girls Elite 5k race Paige Hofstad (New Braunfels) won decisively with a time of 18:04.80.  Destiny Collins (Great Oak) was 2nd in 18:29.10, just edging out Kelsie Warren (College Station), 18:29.50 for 3rd.  The Woodlands (TX) won a close battle over Great Oak (CA) 93 to 98! Southlake Carroll (TX) was 3rd with 110 points.

Highlights

  • Boys Gold Elite Race- Mac Macoy (Vestavia Hills) won a tight battle in 15:16.18 as Wesley Pectol (Greeneville) was 2nd in 15:21.23.  Auburn won the team title easily with 100 points.
  • Girls Gold Elite Race- Kaitlin York (ACA) won the girls title in 18:12.81.  Allison Cheeseman (Brentwood Academy) was 2nd in 18:17.99.  Morristown-West ran away with the team title, scoring 72 points.

  • Boys Sweepstakes- Nate Rodriguez (Corona Del Sol) won the race over teammate Ryan Normand 15:08.6 to 15:10.5.  Corona Del Sol won the team title.
  • Girls Sweepstakes- Dani Jones (Desert Vista) won the girls race with a time of 17:19.3.  Hannah Christen (Lake Braddock Secondary) finished 2nd in 17:21.5.  Desert Vista took the team crown.

 

Dos Pueblos Invitational, CA

Highlights

  • Saugus (CA) girls dominated, especially in the Junior race where Samantha Ortega won with the quickest time of the day, a 17:44 clocking.  Saugus swept the top-7 places in that class and won overall.

 

Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival, AR

Highlights

  • Stuart McNutt (Blue Valley West) won the boys high school race with a time of 15:46.8.
  • Jamie Kempfer (Festus) ran away with the girls high school race with a winning time of 18:35.1.

 

Paul Short Run, PA

Highlights

  • HS races cancelled due to excessive heat.
