AZ 2013 Watch List - Huston Jones

 

 

The 2013 Cross Country Arizona Watch List series continues.   As the season gets underway new athletes will be added to the list.  

This is the last Watch List I have.  If you have sent me your watch list and it has not yet posted, I probably did not get it.  Please resend.  I am also waiting for about 10 athletes to get their Q and A's in.  Please send before the season if over!!!

What are your goals for the upcoming season:

Work hard and help my team do the best we can!

 

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?

Training is good. My favorite workout is our 1000m Workout.

 

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I started cross country my junior year, but I did track in 9th and 10th grade too.

 

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

My favorite course is Ojo Rojo  and the toughest is Sectionals.

 

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

My favorite cross country memory was being with my team when we earned second at the State Meet. We were all smiling, hugging, and just so happy and relieved.  


 

What do you look forward to the most this season?

I'm looking forward to seeing how State turns out, both individually and as a team.


 

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

When I broke 5 minutes in the 1600m, it definitely was memorable. I had made it a goal at the beginning of the season and to see it pay off was really wonderful.
 

When you are not running , what do you like to do?

When I am not running, I like to read, play the piano, and get together with friends. Also, I love doing activities with my family like camping, hiking, and horseback riding.
 

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

Yes, we lifted and swam over the summer and have continued to lift during the season.
 

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

My coaches have taught me to be passionate about everything I do, whether it be school, church, or cross country.   
 

Are you considering running in college?

Yes, I am considering running in college.
