What are your goals for the upcoming season:
After a re-aggravated soccer injury, and taking a month off, my personal goals have greatly changed. Now my focus is helping my team finish as well as we can in the state meet.
How is your training going? Your favorite workout?
My training went very well. I ran between 35-45 each week. Tempo workouts, progression runs, and hill repeats are my favorite type of workouts
How long have you been running and how did you get started:
This cross country season is my first time ever running except for a few 5ks I ran in for fun in the 7th grade. I have always enjoyed running, and after ending my soccer career due to injuries and a change of interests, I decided to pick up cross country.
What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?
My favorite in state course is the sectionals course. I really like the Mount Carmel Moving Shoes course in California. The toughest course I ran this season is Flagstaff due to the elevation
So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?
My favorite cross country race was the Mount Carmel Meet in California. The night before I had played beach soccer for a few hours and my legs were toast. I ran really hard the next morning to win with a 40 second lead.
What do you look forward to the most this season?
After taking a month off, I am looking forward to seeing what I can accomplish in the state meet.
Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?
My accomplishment that stands out the most this year would have to be winning the Mount Carmel meet.
When you are not running , what do you like to do?
When I am not running I rehab, work on loads of homework, and I compete and jump horses competitively.
Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?
As of this moment I am not cross training. When the season ends I will be working with Tom Bratcher at the Center for Athletic Performance and Physical Therapy to get well and strong.
How have your coaches influenced you overall?
All the coaches who have taken an interest in my running have had a positive influence on me. They have helped me keep a positive attitude even when my results have been affected by my injury.
