Memories of 2014 - Ky Westbrook

One of the fastest sprinters from Chandler High School, Ky Westbrook won 4 State Championships in each of the 100 and 200 meters with PR's for both in her junior year.  She also won two state titles in the shotput.

Westbrook hit national recognition early in her high school career but she became internationally known after her 11:52 100 meter win at the Adidas Grand Pre dream 100 (New York) in 2013 followed 2 months later by her 11.33 100 meter win at the 8th IAAF World Youth Championships held in the Ukraine.

Westbrook holds two state records; the 200 meter dash of 23.37 set in 2013 at the Chandler City Meet and the shotput (47'9") also set in 2013.  She also has the 2nd fastest 100 time in the state of 11:33 from the IAAF World Youth Championships.

Westbrook won the Gatorade Player of the year her junior and senior year and has also been named the Republic Athlete of the year twice and Track Athlete of the year by the East Valley Tribune 3 times.  She is the 3rd athlete from Chandler to win the Gatorade award.

At the Arizona State Meet in 2014 she won 4 Individual State Championships in the 100 meter hurdles, the 100 and 200 meter dash and the shot put.
