Weekend Highlights

Chandler City Meet

Last week was the week of City and District meets though out the state and even though the top athletes were separated by districts there were still some very impressive times and great head to head match-ups. In the Chandler district meet Quiana Jackson (Chandler) won the 400m race in a blistering time of 56.53 which moved her into the number one spot in Arizona. Her teammate Larissa Matthews won the 100 hurdles in 14.20 and the 300 hurdles in 46.52.

On the boys side, Valley Christian Pole Vaulter, Senior Daniel Fanelli cleared 15-6 for the win while Junior Bryce Lamb (Chandler) won both the Long Jump (22-4) and the Triple Jump (46-5.5)

Un-attached

Steve Magnuson, who is running un-attached this year because of a move from Salpointe Catholic HIgh School to Ironwood Ridge, had to travel out of state last weekend to find a competitive race. Not being able to compete in Arizona all season Magnuson went to Walnut California to run in the 1600m race at Mt. Sac. His very impressive time of 4:19.95 gives him the fastest time in the state this year!!
