Division I Girls

DI Sprints

In sprints look for senior Anaya Bailey (Chandler) and freshman Jayde Charlton (Chandler) to dominate in the 100m and 200m, however Alena Ellsworth (Highland) could break the Wolf pack of Anna Foreman and Bailey in the 400m. Do not count out Morgan Parzych from Hamilton who surprised everyone with the win in the 400m at Chandler Rotary.

DI Hurdles

(Chandler) also has a chance to win her first state title in the 300m hurdles running 43.22 this season. Charlton is a key player running the 4x800m and possibly the 4x400m for Chandler. Jai Gruenwald (Chandler) is ranked 1st for the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.30.

DI Distance

Sophomore Morgan Foster (Chandler) is leading her 4x800m team to an impressive #1 in the nation. Foster is also ranked 1st in the 800m (2:09.52) and 1600m (4:53.19). Melanie Loff (Hamilton) and Alena Ellsworth will be right on Foster both running 2:11 this season. In the 3200m look for Sara Carter (Xavier) and Jesselyn Bries (O'Connor) who are ranked less than a second apart. They both ran an impressive 10:35 at Arcadia earlier this season. Expect to see Desert Vista and Chandler dual it out in the distance events from the 4x800m to the 3200m. Haley Wolf (DV) and Baylee Jones (DV) are both ranked in the top 5 for multiple events and will fight to the finish.

DI Throws

Conlon is possibly Arizona's most impressive thrower in track and field history. Watch Mt. Pointe's Kayleigh Conlon as she attempts to break her own state records at the state meet. Conlon is ranked 8th in the country with a throw of 47-9.5 in the shot put.

DI Jumps

Watch for Tiana Poirier-Shelton (Chandler), Jai Gruenwald (Chandler), and Nura Muhammad (Mt. Pointe) to dominate in the jumps. Jai is the only one who has cleared 19 feet in the long jump, however Muhammad is ranked 2nd in both events.

Pole Vault

Corona del Sol's Jose Wright cleared 12-10 at Arcadia which currently ranks her #1 in Div. I, however Sevanna Hanson (Desert Vista) won Chandler Rotary and is right behind Wright. Both girls are very competitive and this could be an event worth watching to see if if they  will clear 13ft.

Relay to Watch

The Chandler Wolves are currently ranked #1 for all three relays ranging from the 4x100m to the 4x800m. The Mountain Pointe 4x100m girls could pull another upset for the Wolves, so the Chandler girls need to get baton to the finish to secure the win.

Teams

The Chandler Wolves are loaded this year and are possibly one of the best teams in the nation. The Wolves should handle the competition but will still have to perform and have no major upsets. The fight will be for the runner up trophy between teams like Desert Vista, Mountain Pointe, and Hamilton.
