Turner Washington Nabs Career PR, Pockets Arizona State Record In Discus

Canyon Del Oro (Az.) High senior Turner Washington has been breaking new ground in the boys discus all season.

On Friday, the University of Arizona signee yet again bested his former PR in the event, winning an Arizona Interscholastic Association Division 2 championship with a heave of 218-7.

The mark, which was a PR by nearly two feet, set a new Arizona record in the event and kept him at US No. 2 nationally.

But it also moved him up the all-time high school record charts. He now owns the 12th all-time best throw and is just the sixth person to throw that mark or farther.
