Bries' Return To The 1600m
Jesselyn Bries (Sandra Day O' Connor, Sr.) made her return to the 1600m, this past weekend at Westside. After spending the latter half of the cross-country season injured and taking the necessary time to fully recover Bries is making progress toward returning to her prime. The week prior, at the Ron Smith Classic she handily won the 3200m in 11:18.33 and this week she pulled off a victory in 5:12.08. Maggie Gibbs (Cactus, Jr.) was the only competitor to challenge Bries and though she could not overtake the O'Connor Senior, it paid off with a huge PR of 5:15.61.
