Jacob opened his season with a 9:27 3200m in a dual meet. In the same week he ran 4:18.26 at the Brophy AMDG Meet as the first boy to break 4:20 in the 1600 for this season. At Districts, he ran a 1:56/4:15 double for the 800m and 1600m races. This year he took runner-up in the D1 Boys 1600m and later won the D1 Boys 800m. The following week he took 2nd in the 800m at the Arizona Meet of Champions with a PR of 1:55.56.
