Cross country action is heating up. We had a dizzying array of talent competing across the country this weekend, and we had epic performances to boot.

Who had the best outing?

That's the big question, but before we get to our National Performer of the Week nominees, let's look back on who took top honors a week ago.

That recognition went to Knoxville Catholic (TN) High School senior Jake Renfree, who earned a big win at the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational in 15:32.80.

Renfree gained exactly 50-percent of the vote and edged out second-place Andrew Brandt of Wazyata, who earned 26-percent.

A big congratulations goes out to Renfree.

Now on to this week's candidates. Who do you think had the top performances nationally? Vote in the polle below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Check back Friday to find out the winner. We'll publish National Performer of the Week polls every Monday following the previous week's action.
