Currently Held By: North Canyon Rattlers - 3:46.08

Last year, the North Canyon Girls closed out their season with a State Title in the Girls' 4x400m Relay. The Rattlers assembled a team of State Champions and podium finishers in sprinting and hurdling events to ran an all-out effort in the last race of the season. They did not enter the race specifically aiming to take the State Record held previously by the Chandler Wolves, but they executed their vision to run their best performance at the end of the season in dominant fashion to set the Arizona State Record in 3:46.08.
The most impressive part is that when they set the record last year, the members of the relay team, Dominique Mustin, Delphine Dah, Jayde Charlton, and Jadyn Mays, were all sophomores. They return this Outdoor Track and Field season prepared to take on the competition, individually as well as in the relays.
North Canyon's Head Coach Airabin Justin recognizes that each athlete on the track and field squad has individual needs and strengths but explains that in the early season the sprinters focus overall strength. "All of our athletes need to work on something, so our game plan is individualized. Some may need to work on more of a base while others may be working on being more explosive.
Each of the returning record holders will aim to collect as many points as possible at the State Meet this May. How many victories will they claim on the road to the big dance at Mesa Community College's Riggs Stadium.
