Top Teams Flex Their Muscles Around The State

Chandler Invitational

For the valley teams that wanted to remain in town, there was the Chandler Invitational. As always, the Chandler Invitational kicked things off with the freshmen boys tackling Tumbleweed Park first, followed by the freshman girls a minute later.
Freshman Races
Tevan Sanders (McClintock) secured the boys victory followed by Tyler Tisinger of Corona Del Sol, just a second later. Meanwhile, Lauren Kazaroff (Chandler) successfully made her debut for the Chandler Wolves with a win for the home crowd.
Sophomore Races
Noah Plaza (Williams Field) successfully held off Sammy Johnston (North Phoenix Prep) in the latter half of the sophomore boys' race. Then in the sophomore girls' race, Ava Potts (Chandler) handily claimed the victory.

Junior Races
In the boys' junior race, Alex Rafferty (Millennium) successfully overtook Thomas Sewell and Ethan Rodriguez to secure the victory in his junior cross-country season. On the girls' side, Grace Tipton (North Phoenix Prep) made her season debut for the NPP Gladiators with an 18:38 performance, the fastest of the day among girls at Tumbleweed Park.

Senior Races
Outside of the performers in Tucson, Jordan Black (North Phoenix Prep) ran the fastest time of the weekend at just over 16-minutes, to win the Senior boys' race. The Senior girls' race capped things off for the competition at Tumbleweed, with Niki Hemmerlin (Red Mountain) dominating the race more than a minute.
