The State Meet is over and with the conclusion of the interscholastic season the results bare out the winners across the board. Dreams were fulfilled and hearts were broken but with high stakes and undulating terrain Cave Creek Golf Course proved to be the great equalizer.
In the final race of the morning session, Jordan Black (North Phoenix Prep, Sr.) soloed a 15:26.7 effort to record the fastest time of the day and set the Division IV boys course record at Cave Creek Golf Course. Overall, eleven boys total ran under 16-minutes at Cave Creek.
Furthermore, his fellow Gladiators followed accumulated 55 points over the next two minutes to dominate the Division IV boys' race. When combined the North Phoenix Prep Gladiators were the sixth fastest boys' team in Arizona yesterday morning.
Likewise, Lauren Ping ran the fastest time ever by a freshman to secure the victory in the Division I Girls Race followed soon by Grace Ping to lead the Thunder to victory.
Overall, the Desert Vista Thunder and the Highland boys cemented their status at Cave Creek Golf Course as the top ranked teams in Arizona, but check out where everybody fell on the athletes and team merge.
