SAN TAN VALLEY, ARIZONA -- The Desert Dream Last Chance Invitational was everything Kate Jendrezak could have hoped for over two days this weekend.

The Eastside Catholic (WA) graduate and UCLA signee unleashed two wins, two new school records and two personal records across the 200 and 400 meter distances, scoring times of 24.86 and 54.48 seconds, respectively, as she swept the races on Friday and Saturday at Poston Boutte High School.

Perhaps more known at this point as a lethal 800m runner -- she scored a Washington Class 3A state win in 2019 in 2:09.71 -- Jendrezak certainly opened up the tool box and displayed major versatility, going up against Valor Christian's Camille Peisner in a competitive 400m (above) that saw the Washington athlete pull away in the final important meters.
