In a brief email exchange on Friday with David Shapiro, AIA Tournament Coordinator for Cross Country, Mr. Shapiro gave this response when asked where are we with cross country this fall?
"Still on. How long the season will be is still up in the air. Since the health department is now talking matrix instead of phases, that could delay the start. I'm sad for the teams and individuals who already canceled. XC is a low-risk sport and modifications to a meet schedule could have been made."
He followed up with us about an hour later via email with:
"Also next week is an executive board meeting that might give some guidance on [the] start of the season, how many meets will be allowed, [the] start of [the] season [for] practice. Will keep you informed."
