AIA Div. III: GIRLS 5K RUN - STATE FINALS
ALA-Queen Creek Rises to the Top as LeVander Wins Division III Girls State Title
The AIA Division III Girls 5,000m State Championship delivered an exciting blend of front-running talent and deep team performances. ALA-West Foothills sophomore Gwendolyn LeVander controlled the race from the opening mile and ran away with the individual state title in 19:04.50, the fastest time of the division.
Behind her, Eastmark's Ruby Lambson (19:10.70) and ALA-Queen Creek's Jada O'Leary (19:23.50) secured second and third, setting the tone for ALA-Queen Creek's strong team showing.
That performance, combined with tightly packed scoring from Tally Call (4th), Brynlee Johnson (19th), Evelyn Klomp (24th), and Trinley Workman (38th), powered ALA-Queen Creek to the Division III team championship with 80 points-the lowest score of the field.
Pusch Ridge Christian rode a trio of top-25 finishers, including Hayley Floyd (5th) and Sophy Floyd (16th), to secure the runner-up spot with 122 points. Salpointe Catholic, led by Savannah Koontz (14th) and Reilly Rinner (18th), completed the podium with 131 points.
