Canyon del Oro Junior, Daniel Wong (photo above on left) will also be competing in the World Youth Olympics in the 2000 meter steeplechase.   Wong also qualified for the World Youth Olympics in Texas last April and will be racing in the prelims on Wednesday, August 18th.  Wong’s PR in the 2K Steeplechase is 6:07 and he is hoping to break 6 minutes this week.   The finals for the steeplechase will be held on Monday, August 23rd.

Hannah Carson was also selected by the U.S. Olympic Committee to carry the USA flag for the opening ceremonies held on Saturday.   She was selected by the sport captains of the U.S. Youth Olympic Games Team.
