UW Open Meet (WA) 

Highlights 

  • Ryan Crouser (Sam Barlow OR) blasted a 74-05 to inch closer to the national record and improve on his US#2 All-Time mark.
  • Nathan Weitz (Shadle Park WA) ran 4:14.64 for a US#4 mark in the mile.  Sister Kendra Weitz ran 4:59.88 to win her heat of the mile.
  • Jacob Smith (Wenatchee WA) rolled to a US#1 8:29.55 to win the 3000 meter run.
  • Amy Eloise-Neale (Glacier Peak WA) won the 800 meter run with a US#3 mark of 2:13.32.

Highlights

  • Bernard Lagat set a new American Record for 2 miles with his run of 8:10.07 at the Armory to shave almost 5 seconds off the old record of 8:15.02 by Doug Padilla set 21 years ago.
  • Lukas Verzbicas (Sandburg IL) ran a time of 8:43.24, just off the national record for US#3 All-Time!

  • Jordan Matthews (Abington PA) won the long jump with a US#2 mark of 19-02.50.
  • Rich D'Ambrosio (Malvern Prep PA) won the boys long jump with a T-US#7 leap of 23-06.50.

 

 

State College HS Invite #2 (PA) 

Highlights 

  •  Wade Endress (Altoona PA) won the 800 meter run with a US#2 time of 1:53.7 to stay unbeaten at the distance this season.

  •  Marquis Dendy won the triple jump in impressive fashion, launching himself 52-01.50 for US#3 All-Time to close out the meet.
  • Haley Pierce dueled with Lindsay Olivere over 3200 meters, winning in 10:30.61 to 10:35.18.

 

 

The Great Southwest Classic (NM)

Highlights

  •  Jasmine Todd (Chandler, AZ) had a great meet finishing in the top 10 nationally in 3 events.  Todd already ranked US#3 in the long jump, jumped a US#9 18.6.  Todd also jumped a US#5 39.6 in the triple jump and ran a 7.56 US#7 60 meter dash.

  •  Mary Beth Sant (Colorado) finished 2nd behind Todd in the 60 meter dash with a US#9 time of 7.6 followed by 3rd place finished Nia Dorner (Pacific United) who finished in 7.61 for a US#10.  Ky Westbrook (Chandler) took 4th in the 60 meter dash with a US#11 7.64.

  • Nia Dorner also made the top 10 in the 200 meter dash with a US#7 time of 24.71

  • Hannah Carson (Chandler) won the shot put  with a 44.6 moving from US#8 to US#6

Highlights 

  • Meggie Donovan (Manchester Central) won the 600 meter dash with a US#10 time of 1:35.48

  • Jerickson Fedrick (Salem) won the 55 meter dash with a US#6 time of 6:39.

  • Jeff Lacoste (Bishop Guertin) ran a US#5 time of 4:11.23 in the 1500 meter run.

Highlights

  • Steve Gannon (Mansfield) just missed the 300m meet record of 35.51 set by Dave Lint in 2006. Gannon's time of 35.54 is the fastest time in the state. Jon Raduazzo (Oliver Ames) was second in 35.83.

    Mansfield teammates battled it out for the 600m win. Ryan Petrella had the slight edge at 1:24.50. Griffin Robertson was second in 1:24.71.

    Josh Lampron (Mansfield) and Nick O'Leary (North Attleboro) both beat Nick Wade's 2008 league record in the 1000m. Lampron was the winner 2:30.15; O'Leary was second in 2:33.36. They split 2:01 for 800m.

 

Region IV Indoor T&F Championships (VA)

  • George Carter (Blacksburg) won the 1600 meter run with a 4:13.95
  • Two girls dipped under 5 minutes in the 1600 with Hannah Brown (Blacksburg) leading the way followed by Annie LeHardy (Hidden Valley)

  • Demitri Knowles (Liberty Christian Academy) won the 300 meter dash with a time of 35.69 and the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.47.
  • Taylor Clevinger (Saint Catherines) had a solid double with a 5:16.51 in the 1600 and a 3:02.68 in the 1000.

 

  

CIAC Class S Championships (CT) 

Highlights

  • Sarah Gillesplie (Northwest Catholic) came close to matching her US#9 time in the 1000 meter run finishing in 2:55.95.
     
  • The Northwest Catholic girls won the Sprint Medley Relay with a US#11 time of 4:15.65
