Arizona high school track and field athletes posted personal records across multiple events during the week of April 27.
Below, check out the athletes who broke through this past week and will look to carry that momentum into a great 2026 season.
Cameron Banks (Casa Grande Union) jumped 22-2.5 in the long jump at the Fred Clare East Valley Qualifier on April 29, improving from his previous best of 20-3.5 set in April. The sophomore's mark ranks #29 statewide and #1 among freshmen, earning him second place out of 68 competitors.
Rebecca Ballard (Snowflake) ran 12.40 in the 100 meters at the Snowflake Last Chance Meet on April 29, dropping her time from 12.93. The senior's performance ranks #36 in Arizona and #12 among seniors, and she won the race against 41 other competitors.
Alexandria Haynie (Red Mountain) clocked 12.74 in the 100 meters at the Fred Clare East Valley Qualifier on April 29, improving significantly from her previous mark of 14.33 set in March 2024. The junior ranks #97 statewide and #21 among juniors after placing eighth out of 87 runners.
Gage McDowell (Campo Verde) cleared 6-3.5 in the high jump at the Fred Clare East Valley Qualifier on April 29, bettering his previous height of 5-10. The senior's school record performance ranks #22 in the state and #11 among seniors, and he won the event among 26 competitors.
Brady Summers (Basha) ran 9:16.00 in the 3200 meters at the Northeast Valley Championships on April 27, improving from 9:40.60. The junior's time ranks #9 statewide and #2 among juniors after winning the race against 56 other runners.
Evra Therien (Arcadia) posted 11:48.37 in the 3200 meters at the Northeast Valley Championships on April 27, dropping her time from 12:16.28. The junior ranks #56 in Arizona and #13 among juniors after placing seventh out of 45 competitors, and also set a personal record of 5:30.52 in the 1600 meters, improving from 5:42.47.
Ella Mack (ALA West Foothills) ran 11:59.53 in the 3200 meters at the Mustang Stampede Final Rush Last Chance Meet on April 28, improving from 12:51.88 set in March. Her time ranks #75 statewide and earned third place out of nine competitors.
