This Week's Nominees:
Nicole Ripperdan, Queen Creek High School (Arizona): Won the 800 meters in 2:06.05 at the AIA Track and Field State Championships, taking the title by nearly two seconds over the 18-runner field.
Aliyah Morrow, Hamilton High School (Arizona): Captured the 400 meters at the AIA Track and Field State Championships with a winning time of 53.52. Also placed 6th in the 200 meters, clocking 24.47.
Karsten Lewis, Canyon Del Oro High School (Arizona): Finished 2nd in the 100m hurdles at the AIA Track and Field State Championships, posting a time of 13.77 in the 17-athlete field.
Ava Davis, Millennium High School (Arizona): Claimed the 200 meters title at the AIA Track and Field State Championships in 24.06, then added a runner-up finish in the 100 meters with an 11.90 clocking.
Kyana Williams, Hamilton High School (Arizona): Cleared 5-9 to win the high jump at the AIA Track and Field State Championships, topping a competitive field of 20 athletes.
