Best times in a 5K and 3 Mile race?

5k - 18:47 @ Twilight 2010
3miles - 17:49 @ Sole Sports 2011

Tell us how your training is going?

It went really well. I was able to get out of the heat for a week when I went to Flagstaff for the very first Greg McMillan Elite X-C training camp. My teammates and I had a great time there and got some good miles in. I also got a bit of altitude training in Snowflake and on Mt. Lemmon while at an LDS girls camp.

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

Well, my main goal is to make it to Nike Nationals in Portland, Oregon this year (and definitely next season) and that means that I will have to improve my times quite a bit.

How long have you been running and how did you get started?

Even though I did track in middle school, I really don't count those two years because I was a sprinter for one and the farthest I ran in practice was two miles. So I just say that I started my running career the beginning of my freshman year and have loved running ever since.

Will you be competing out of state this season?

Yes, my team is going to Huntington Beach again this year and my goal is to make it to Nike Nationals.

Favorite course to run in Arizona?

My favorite course is Twilight because of the unique experience of running in the dark.

Toughest course in Arizona?

I think the State meet is the toughest course because of the rolling hills.

Favorite Cross Country race so far in your high school career?

My favorite x-c race so far was Twilight my sophomore year because I ran my PR there and felt strong and confident during the race.

Favorite Cross Country memory?

My favorite memory was winning the Gila Valley Region Championship my freshman year. At the time that seemed like an impossible accomplishment and I felt on top of the world. The only bad part was my family didn't get to watch my race because on their way up to Lake Havasu, our truck got a flat tire and they didn't make it in time. But we still got to go on paddle boats and feed the ducks on the lake after the race.

When you are not running what is your favorite thing to do?

I love to do the normal relaxing activities - reading, swimming, and hanging out with friends, but I also love to make jewelry.
