Jasmine Todd - Out for the season

US#1 long jumper and Arizona record holder in the triple jump, Jasmine Todd is out for the season after tearing her ACL last week doing triple jump drills at practice.  The confirmation came today after an MRI revealed the injury.   Todd is one of the top jumpers in the country and has been ranked #1 in Arizona the past few years.  She also finished 2nd in the long jump and 6th in the triple jump during the New Balance Indoor Nationals in early March.

During the 2011 track and field season Todd broke the Arizona state record at the Chandler Rotary sustaining an injury during the 100 meter dash at the same meet.  She was out for a few weeks of the season but came back to help the team win state and Nike Track Nationals.

At the Chandler Rotary 2 weeks ago, Todd won the triple jump, broke the meet record in the long jump with a 20-1.5 putting her at US#1, finished a very close 2nd in the 100 dash and achored the 4x100 meter relay.

For avid track and field fans, we will miss seeing Todd and her amazing jumping and sprinting abilities but according to her mom Kim, "She is taking it better than everyone else."
