We continue our pre-season preview rankings of the top returning athletes per division with lists of the Top 100 Returning D1 Boy Sprinters.
At the AIA State Meet last year, Jaheim Brown-Taylor (Chandler, Jr.) surpassed Kelee Ringo as the fastest sprinter in the State when he ran 10.49 and 21.25 for the 100 & 200-meter dashes, respectively. Six Division 1 returners have already run under 11 seconds for the 100-meter dash.
Brown is backed up by David Eppinger (Sr.) and Latrell Tellis (Jr.) and with their combined efforts they could be a major threat this season in the 4x100m and 4x400m Relays. Eppinger is a former rival and now teammate who transferred to Chandler and was a part of their State Championship Football Team this past fall. At the AIA State Championships last year, Eppinger finished 2nd in the D1 Boys 400-meter dash wearing a Perry Pumas jersey. Can he pull off the State Title in Chandler colors this season?
