Eligibility: Competition is open to all athletes with current USA Track & Field membership.
Only youth athletes from West Zone associations may compete in the West Zone championships.
Birth date must be verified on the USATF membership database.
To represent a club or organization, that group must have a current 2017 membership with USA Track & Field, otherwise entries will be converted to unattached.
Entry: All entries are per event:
Entries will open January 22nd.
Before midnight February 15(MST): Youth entries $4.00; Adult entries $7.00.
After midnight February 15(MST): Youth entries $6.00; Adult entries $9.00. (Space available basis)

All entries will be done on-line thru Athletic.net (Choose the Indoor Calendar)
There are Two meet in Athletic.net the West Zone meet for Youth, and the Arizona Indoor for Open/Masters.
The on-line reqistration deadline is Midnight Tuesday, February 15th (Mountain Time)
Corrections may be made by noon February 17th thru the Association Office.
No Mailed, Faxed, or E-mail entries will be accepted, nor day of meet changes.

Events: 55m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 4x400m(4x300), 55m Hurdles(same specifications as 60m hurdles less 5m at finish), LJ, HJ, SP, TJ, and PV.
The 4x200 and Race Walk and Weight Throw will not be contested. Athletes in these events will be allowed to enter the National Indoor Championships directly.

Event Limits: 8 & Under, 09-10, 11-12 - three events including relays.
13-14, 15-16, 17-18 - four events including relays.
Open and Masters - No Limit.

Facilities: Six lane (8 lane stright-away) 300m flat Mondo track.
Spikes 1/4" Pyramid or less will be allowed, no needle or Christmas Tree spikes.

Timing: LYNX timing will be used, with hand timing backup. Events and results will be posted on-line shortly after an event has completed.

Awards: Custom Indoor Classic medals (first thru third), ribbons (fourth thru sixth) for all finishers.
USATF West Zone Championship medals (first thru sixth) for Youth. National Indoor Records cannot be broken at this meet, due to track size.

Rules: Current USA Track and Field rules will govern. Only competing athletes
will be permitted on the track or infield area, except for medical emergencies.

Running Events: The meet will run on a continuous basis.
All running events will be conducted as timed finals, except the 55m dash, which will have trials and finals.
All relay team members must wear a top and shorts of the same color.
Events will be run youngest to oldest, girls first, except the hurdles, which will be run oldest to youngest, boys first.

Field Events: All competitors in the Long Jump and Triple Jump will be given 4 attempts only.
Shop putters will be given 3 attemps, with the top six advancing to the finals.
All throwing implements will be certified prior to use.

Protests: All protests must be made in writing, to the referee, not later than 30
minutes after the results of an event have been announced. Proper rule
reference must be cited. All protests must be accompanied by a $100.00
cash deposit. Deposit will be refuded if protest is upheld, forfeited if protest is denied.

Check In: Two calls will be given for each event. Athletes in running events must
report to the clerk of the course, ready to compete, and stay in the area.
Field event athletes must report directly to the official in charge of their
field event. Athletes must noftify the official in charge of their field event,
before leaving to report to the clerk for their running event. Athletes must
report back to their field event within 5 minutes of completion of their runing event.

Conduct: Coaches and parents are responsible for the conduct of their team members.
Failure to maintain proper control and to display good sportsmanship, could
result in the removal of the team or individual from further competition.

National Youth Indoor: The 2017 Youth Indoor National Championships will be held March 10-12 at the Ocean Breeze& Athletic Complex, Staten Island, NY
15-16 & 17-18 High School divisions can compete in this meet without competing in the qualifing zone meet. Age divisions and events are the same as in Flagstaff, but unique to this competition, relays for the Intermediate and Young divisions can be combined. This means that athletes aged 15 to 18 can run on the save relay team. Clubs must check with their High School Association to determine if they can participate.
Medals will be awarded to the top 6 individuals and relays in each division. The top eight finishers at the Zonal meet qualify to compete in the Naional Championships. See the info link on our web site schedule for entry information.

Packet pick-up will be from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M. Saturday at the meet HQ and in the Dome on Sunday
