II. General Information

A. Location: Bourgade Catholic High School Track

Date: Saturday April 11, 2020

Entry Fee: $350.00 for both boys & girls or $200 per team

Times: 8:00am - Coaches Meeting (room 401 east of the track; across from snack bar)

7:30 - 8:30am Implement weigh-ins (location TBD)

8:30am - Field Events begin; Finals only

9:30am - Track Events begin; Finals only

III. Admission

$5.00 - Adults/Students w/out ID

Passes - A.I.A. ONLY

Athletes in uniform or with coach will be admitted free

A. Tents and umbrellas will be allowed on the guest bleachers and around the grass/dirt areas around the track. No tents or umbrellas will be allowed in the baseball stadium.

IV. Scoring

Individual and relay scoring will be 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1

V. Entries - Both a Girls Team and a Boys Team/School

A. Each team will be allowed to submit three (3) competitors in each running and field event.

There will be a fast and a slow heat for the finals in the non-lane races. Each team will be allowed to enter two (2) relay teams in each relay event.

B. All entries must be entered listing first name, surname, and school year of each participant. If entries are done incorrect time/distances will be entered as NT/ND. Enter hand held times in tenths (11.1) and electronic as hundredths (11.13 on athletic.net).

C. All entries must be entered Wednesday, 11:59pm, April 1, 2020 on Athletic.net. No changes allowed the day of the meet SCRATCHES ONLY. The meet will be seeded, heat sheets will be emailed Friday. Changes are due Friday at 3pm and can be emailed to amoses@bourgadecatholic.org.

D. Official eligibility for participation is established according to the A.I.A. rules and regulations, as

contained in the A.I.A. Constitution and Bylaws.

E. All participants will enter and compete in events as permitted by the AIA.

F. Identify relay participants by all athletes checking in together at the bullpen when 1st call is made. Six (6) athletes can be designated on athletic.net and no changes may be made after Friday at 3pm.

G. Please make sure you have added Valley Classic and updated your roster on MaxPreps. Teams not added will be reminded the day of the meet via email and the results will be uploaded within 48 hours.

VI. Track Facilities

8 lanes curve - 8 lanes straight

Concrete shot and discus rings

All weather runways in LJ, TJ and PV

All weather take off area for HJ, PV and javelin

Foam pits for HJ and PV

Warm-up running space is offered outside the football practice field behind the baseball stadium north-west of the track.

Coaches will have their own hospitality room (room 401 across from the snack bar)

Restrooms are located on the East side of the track.

VII. Track Events

Number of heats will depend on the number of qualifying entries per event. Heats will be seeded fast to fastest.

If there is a malfunction of the electronic timing device in any of the heats, then all heats will be scored by electronic timing system.

Athletes must check in at the bullpen by the 2nd call. This will be located at the west end of the football field.

All athletes will be required to report to the staging area where the Clerk of the Course will check them in. NO HEAT ADJUSTMENTS will be made at the staging area. At the staging area athletes will: receive starting instructions, receive their lane assignment, and be checked for proper uniform. If an athlete fails to report by the 3rd call, he/she will not be allowed to participate in that event.

800-1600-3200 meter runs and relays-men and women races will be run separately.

800 - 1600 meter runs - Depending on the number of qualifying entries, (1) heat or (2) heats will be run with the top seeded entries in the second heat. The fast heat will be limited to 16 runners and the slow heat will have the rest of the entries. The number of runners in each heat can be changed at the Meet Director's discretion. Box alley start will be used.

VIII. Relays

1. 4x800 meter relay to be run in one heat. Box alley start will be used. (2 heats if necessary)

2. The 4x400 meter relay will use a three (3) turn stagger.

3. Athletes must compete in a competition uniform, relay teams must all be in identical uniforms. Sweats or warm-ups are allowed if school-issued. If uniforms do not match, the relay team will not be allowed to compete.

4. Curve Judges and Exchange Inspectors will be used. Infractions will be signaled with a red/white flag.

5. Athletes must stay in their lanes at the conclusion of their race. Wait for judges to come to you.

IX. Field Events

A. Shot, Discus, and Javelin

Participants will be placed in flights and allowed 3 throws.

At the end of Javelin both Shot and Discus will begin.

B. Long Jump and Triple Jump

Participants will be placed in flights and allowed 3 jumps.

C. Pole Vault and High Jump

1. Boy's Pole Vault will start at: TBD with 6" raises to 13' and then 3" raises.

2. Girl's Pole Vault will start at: TBD with 6" raises to 10' and then 3" raises.

3. Boy's High Jump to start at: TBD with 2" raises to 6' 2" and then 1" raises.

4. Girl's High Jump to start at: TBD and 2" raises to 5' 0", then 1" raises.

Note: The starting heights will be determined during the coaches meeting

X. Appeals

All appeals must be processed through the Meet Referee. No appeals will be processed on judgment calls of Meet Officials. The Meet Referee will be the final authority on rule infractions. The Jury of Appeals will act only on rule interpretations.

XI. Awards

A. Medals will be given to the top 3 finishers in each event. Coaches can pick their medals up at the end of the meet.

B. A trophy will be presented to the team scoring the most points in the girls meet and boy's meet.
