29th Annual Los Mezquites XC Invitational Meet Information
Coaches, thank you for once again supporting the 29th Annual Los Mezquites XC Invitational. Los Mezquites is a State Sanctioned XC Meet and is hosted by Sunnyside High School. LM21 will take place at Kennedy Park in Tucson (West Side/Fiesta Area) on Septeber 18 2021. The staging area will be in the Fiesta Area (outside amphitheater). Teams are welcome to set up camp in or around the picnic tables within the fiesta area. Restrooms will be available to students athletes and spectators. Concessions will be available for spectators including coaches and students athletes. Los Mezquites Race T-Shirts will also be available for sale. We look forward to hositng this great race and moreso look forward to providing student athletes with an opportunity to compete.
All athletes must check in 15min prior to the start of their race. All races will have a pacer available to athletes. Course monitors will also be on hand to support student athletes during their race. Sunnyside will also be providing a certified sports trainer in case of any emergencies/injuries.More information to come.
Los Mezquites Race Schedule (Subject to change):
Coaches Meeting: 8:00am (Band Shell)
Presentation of Colors/National Anthem: 8:15am
Girls Open Race (JV): 8:30am
Girls Varsity Race: 9:15am
Boys Open (JV): 10:00 am
Boys Varsity: 10:45 am
Awards: 12:00 pm
Parking: School buses and or school vans will be directed to park in the North West side adjoining parking lot. Spectators will be allowed to park in the visitors parking lot. Sunnyside Security will be on site directing traffic.
Awards: Team awards will be presented for 1-3rd places. Varsity races: Individual plaques will be awarded to 1-7th places, and medals will be awarded to finishers placing 8-25th.JV races: JV runners will placing 1st-15th will receive medals.
Fee: $150.00/gender. $300.00 for both boys and girls. Individuals: $25.00. Payments can me mailed to Sunnyside High School (1725 E Bilby Rd Tucson, Az 85706 Attention Marco Rodriguez? Michele Quintana). Checks should be made out to Sunnyside Cross Country.
Hospitality Rm: Coaches and Officials will be provided with a hospitality room.
