Fifty percent of the teams and the top 25 individuals in each section move on to State. If there are an odd number of teams in the race then the 50% is rounded up to include the next team.
Freshman Maya Smith from Northland Prep won Secction 1 with a time of 20:22 for 5K while Amber Miller (Sr., Scottsdale Prep) finished in 20:56 for 5K and Paige Morales (Fr., Morenci) ran a 20:02 for 3 miles. All three sections were in three different places making it difficult to compare.
Northland Prep Academy took home the win for Section 1 with 24 points over Hopi with 67 points. Scottsdale Prep won Section 2 with 52 points over Valley Christian with 96 points and Leadership Academy earned 62 points for the win over Morenci and Tanque, both with 91 points.
