The Valentine's Day Weekend Rundown

Jack Salisbury Kicks FTW In Boston

In a perfectly executed race, La Salle Academy's Jack Salisbury won the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix over nation-leading studs Thomas Ratcliffe and Aidan Tooker

For most of the race, Ratcliffe--whose high school is about 20 miles from the Reggie Lewis Center--was pushing the pace, with Saratoga Springs' Tooker on his back. In the last 400 meters, Ratcliffe began to power away, and Salisbury maneuvered around Tooker. Ratcliffe opened up a solid four meter gap, but Salisbury had parceled out his energy perfectly and powered away in the last 75 meters.

Salisbury's official time was 4:08.33, giving him big wins over Ratcliffe (US #1 in the two mile and 1K) and Tooker (US #1 in the 3200).
