Makennah Mills (Prescott) and Alaina Kautz (Campo Verde) traded the lead through most of the race and with 200 to go, Mills seized her chance at victory. Meanwhile through the bell lap, Sydney Rhodes (Highland) crept from 4th to 3rd to 2nd and ran down Makenna to win the race in a PR of 5:17.50. Mills took 2nd in 5:19.78 and Kautz finished 3rd in 5:26.09.
